I offer a remote production service.


There are different types of production available and it's important to know what type of production you want and what your budget is.




I will need up to 3 reference tracks.


I can either produce a fully mixed track or, if you prefer to do your own mixing, an unmixed version.


Upon completion, I will give you all the finished stems.



Production

Type

Demo - are you looking for a simple outline production to give you an idea of what he track can be ?


For Pitching - are you looking to have a track for pitching to an artist ?


For Release - are you looking to release the track yourself ?


For Sync - is the track going to be for sync ?

Budget

Everything costs - it's a sad fact of life. The more you want from a production, the more it's likely to cost. For example, say you want strings on a track. It's going to be a lot cheaper to use a plugin string sample than it is to hire out the BBC Symphony Orchestra in Abbey Road ! 

It's important to know what type of production you want. What's your budget for the job ? Do you want a simple demo production to give an idea of the song or a full blow releasable production ?

Reference Tracks

What is a reference track ?

These help the producer know what you're after for your song. Typically a producer would look for up to 3 refernce tracks. You could have one reference track where you really like the sound of the drums and another where you like a synth sound and a third that has the right tempo.

Mixed Or Unmixed

An unmixed track will have every sound set to the centre of the mix and at the same volume.


A mixed track will have sounds panned between left and right and the sounds will have their levels adjusted so that you can hear each sound.

Stems

Stems are the individual tracks that go to make up the recording.

It may be that for whatever reason (budget, workload etc.) that I am unable to help. If that happens, I'll be happy to search my list of contacts for someone who may be able to help instead.

I write meaningful melodic pop/indie songs for everyday people who want to feel a connection. My lyrics have a hint of the Kinks’ Ray Davies to them. I am happy to branch out into other genres as well. I am equally adept to write solo as well as with other writers/artists. I regularly attend songwriting retreats both in the UK and abroad.

A mentor offers guidance using their own experiences and can help you talk through ideas and problems. They can ask questions which you may not have thought of and give you a different insight into things and can offer suggestions.

Critiquing is an analysis of the song. This involves looking at the structure, rhyme schemes, lyrical threads, instrumentation.


Critiques can provide valuable insights into where a song can be improved.
